Oscar winning actress Meryl Streep and director J.J. Abrams have reportedly joined forces to create a new possible TV show. The duo plans to produce a TV adaptation of the novel The Nix with Warner Brothers Television studios.

Streep is reported to act as not only the main star in the new TV series, but also act as the show’s executive producer. J.J. Abrams plans to direct a few episodes of the TV show and be involved as a possible producer.

The Nix novel, which was written by Nathan Hill and debuted in book retail stores on August 30th 2016, centers around character Samuel Andresen-Anderson whose mother reappears in his life after many decades of estrangement. The college professor not only has to deal with coming to terms with his mother’s abandonment, but he also has to deal with the media frenzy that follows her around because of a crime she committed.

Abrams expects for his production banner Bad Robot to help produce the show, which is currently also producing another TV series on HBO. The HBO series is based on the 1973 film called Westworld, which was adapted and created for TV by Johnathan Nolan and Lisa Joy for HBO productions. Westworld is scheduled to premiere on October 2nd 2016 on HBO, which will star Anthony Hopkins and Ed Harris.

J.J. Abrams has recently gained popularity with Star Wars fans all over the world by directing, producing, and co-writing the successful film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Abrams also is currently serving as an executive producer for the Showtime series Roadies, which was created by Cameron Crowe. Abrams filmography also includes his work on popular TV series Alias, Lost, and Fringe, which he acted as a co-creator or creator for all three of the past series. Abrams is also involved with CBS’s Person of Interest and Hulu’s 11.22.63 series as a producer.

Meryl Streep has recently acted in the lead role for Florence Foster Jenkins, which has given the actress her 20th Oscar nomination. Streep is also expected to act in Disney’s upcoming project titled “Mary Poppins Returns”, which is reportedly expected to premiere in theaters on December 25th 2018.
