Drying hair is one of things people do a lot. It’s typically done with a blow dryer. What some people may fail to realize is that blow drying hair can be harming your hair; especially if you think applying so much heat to your hair is fine. So, here are some methods you should adopt when drying your hair.
1. Diffuser
A diffuser is an attachment for blow dryers. They are meant to reduce the amount of heat your hair comes into to contact with.
It makes sure your hair isn’t exposed to heat longer by directing the air through the attachment, which is larger and has vents placed throughout it.
Essentially, air is getting to your hair more and those sections are only getting a fraction of the heat without the attachment.

2. Heat Protectant
If you use heat almost everyday or every other day than you should use a heat protectant. These can be found anywhere and a large number of brands sell heat protectants.
There are heat protectants based on temperature, hair type, and based on the method you use when that heat is applied (blow drying, flat ironing etc.).
Heat protectants come in different product types, meaning it can be a water-based spray, more like hairspray, oil or lotion. You should use whatever works on your hair best.

3. Air Drying
This is another method you can use when drying your hair, letting your hair dry naturally instead of using a blow dryer or flat iron.
You should make sure your hair is not soaking wet before applying this method. You can blot, not rub, out all the excess water out of your hair before air drying to cut down on how long it’ll take to dry.

Make sure you thoroughly detangle/ comb your hair before letting it air dry or it will dry into tangles. Try these methods when drying your hair, they are safer and your hair will thank you for it.
