Jennifer Lopez and Nina Dobrev, are among the names of celebrities that add an extra star to the 5 star Lebanese designers such as Zuhair Murad, Charbel Zoe and Nicolas Jebran.
The latest MTV Video Music Awards highlighted the talent that is emerging from the Middle East, especially Lebanon. Beyonce stole global attention in her act, but earlier that night the Goddess took over the red carpet in a black, long-sleeve gown with spider web detail across the bodice by Nicolas Jebran.
Famous for his haute couture, Jebran also designs accessories, shoes and bags called “Jebran.” He came to be noticed in the fashion industry in 2001 when he launched his first line and now his designs are worn by famous pan-Arab and international stars.
Another Lebanese designer that was been in the news is 27-year-old Charbel Zoe.
The loyal recognition of Jennifer Lopez truly lifted Zoe’s career to the next level. Zoe became a worldwide name when Lopez wore a green sparkly creation by the designer at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in June. She followed her commitment by wearing a sparkly silver gown slashed through with flesh-baring cutouts by Zoe.
Some time back when you would Google famous Lebanese designers, you would probably recognize a couple such as Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad. Now the list is endless and the world is pounding on their doors.
