“I decided to just get them off of Etsy.” – Mila Kunis
A beaded bracelet? A pair of vintage Levis? Nope. Mila Kunis is referring to her and her hubby’s wedding bands.
Refreshingly and not all that surprisingly, the ‘Bad Moms’ star did, in fact, purchase her and Ashton Kutcher’s wedding rings on the peer-to-peer, e-commerce website that specializes in handmade and antique products. Etsy.
Now, before delving into the discount deal to Conan O’Brien, the late-night host commended the simple band Kunis wore, sans engagement ring: “You’re not showy. It’s not showy. It’s not, like, incredibly flashy.”
Mila then began the tale of the bridal bargain, first preempting the story with the fact that Ashton did initially get the actress “a beautiful engagement ring. Like, stunning, stunning, stunning!”
When it came time to look at wedding bands, specifically Tiffany and Co.’s bands featuring a simple 2mm platinum wedding ring for $800, Mila decided the prices were just too much. “ “I was like, ‘They’re how much? This is astronomical,” Mila remarked. So instead, “I went on Etsy and I was like, ‘$90?’ I was like, ‘Buy now!’ Ashton’s was $100, so technically his wedding band was a little bit more expensive.”
A combined price of $190 is a budget bride’s dream.
Conan even said, “I’ve been talking to you for years and I’ve always loved the fact that you are frugal,” adding, “You’re always up front about that.”
And in turn, Mila joked, “That’s a nice way of saying ‘cheap,’ but yes.”
While the conversation over the harmonious hardware was comical and upbeat, we do genuinely commend Kunis for stepping outside the bounds of typical celebrity fashion and in turn, the pressures to boast a rock for a ring.
Simply look at Mrs. Kardashian West’s ring finger, which rocks a 30.5-carat stud. The late Elizabeth Taylor was gifted a 33-carat Krupp diamond by ex-husband Richard Burton in 1968. And even hubby Ryan Reynolds spent $2 Mill on Blake’s proposal piece.
The ‘That 70’s Show’ alum also added, “My engagement ring is beautiful but I don’t ever wear it. This ring, I’m like, ‘It’s $90!’ It’s great.”
For this frugal find, we’re giving Kunis the appropriate kudos.
