Lately it seems that exquisite model, Gigi Hadid, has been stirring up all the buzz. Whether it be her romantic life or stunning photoshoots, Gigi is mesmerizing the media.
Gigi Hadid is only 19-years old. She was born in LA to “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, Yolanda Foster. Apparently her remarkable beauty comes from a mix of her Palestinian, from her father’s side, and Dutch, on her mother’s side, heritages.
She was first discovered when she was only 2 years old by Paul Marciano, head of GUESS. Gigi worked with GUESS until she chose to pursue her academics through high school instead. She signed on with IMG Models in 2011 and quickly became the face of GUESS. Since then, she has appeared in magazines such as Vogue, Galore, Elle, etc. Gigi was even crowned one of 12 rookies in Sports Illustrated, 2014 issue.
This past year, Gigi Hadid has really taken off. She appeared on the cover of Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book of 2014. In NY Feb. fashion week, Gigi walked for Desigual’s show.
Gigi’s most recent venture was her shoot for VMAN’s Spring/Summer 2014 issue. She posed nude for photographer Sebastian Faena, allegedly against her mother’s wishes. Faena made her look nothing short of a goddess. She commented on how the shoot impacted her mother to the Daily Summer, saying, “A lot of media and blogs attacked her for it, which kind of pissed me off. I’m 19 years old. It’s me and my manager guiding my career, not my mom.” Gigi’s frustration seems to be common amongst young adult models.
Many know Gigi Hadid because of her romantic involvement with Australian singer Cody Simpson, 17. Even though the couple split this past month, ending their nearly-year-long relationship, Gigi played a major role in Cody’s music video for “Surfboard”, which was released this past Apr. 14th.
The breakup came as a shock to many because of their chemistry while filming this video. According to a JustJaredJr.com insider “They’ve been on and off trying to make it work, but their schedules have made it quite difficult.” Most recently, Cody Simpson has been filming “Dancing with the Stars” in LA and Gigi’s modeling schedule has become quite consuming, involving a tremendous amount of traveling. Cody was open about how he struggled to maintain the relationship.
Most recently, Gigi captured some attention on May 24, when seen Yacht cruising around the coast of France with Justin Bieber. Nevertheless, there is no proof of any romance there..yet.
The next day Gigi was seen at the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund‘s Memorial Day Weekend Dinner and Cocktail Party Benefit, which is held at Georgica Restaurant, Wainscott, NY. She sported an elegant, tangerine dress with a leg slit.
