One of the most iconic comedies in the world, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, is set to mark its return with the 40th anniversary re-release. Park Circus and Sony Pictures will handle the release in the U.K., whereas Rainbow will handle the release in the U.S.. Monty Python and the Holy Grail parodies King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table’s quest to find the Holy Grail.
This will be a special event as the screenings are a one-night only event and will come along with an introduction from the surviving pythons who have specially filmed for the occasion: John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin.
The re-release will hit U.K. cinemas on Wednesday, October 14th, 2015 on over 500 screens. Park Circus is encouraging audiences to come along dressed up as their favorite character. Sony will also be releasing a 40th anniversary edition Blu-Ray of Holy Grail in the fall.
Dedicated fans of the popular British franchise will be quite pleased to watch the movie in a crystal clear print. Maybe with its success, a reboot of the franchise may also be coming up in the future.
