Jeremy Scott hasn’t even fulfilled his position as Creative Director at Moschino for a year yet, and he’s already making huge plans for marketing the brand’s newest collections. Talk about moving fast!
The new ad campaign for the label’s “Italian House” collection features two popular names, putting Moschino on the top of the map, and showing that Scott really does mean business.
Supermodel Linda Evangelista is featured in the campaign, shot by well-known photographer Steven Meisel. “People always ask me who my favorite photographer is and that would be Cindy Sherman, but my favorite artist is Steven Meisel,” Jeremy Scott tells WWD. While the actual themes of the new collection have not been revealed, it seems as if the SpongeBob Sweaters and surprising McDonald’s-like bathrobes will bring a comedic spin on things – after all, when was the last time you’ve seen a supermodel eat a Big Mac?
In her black-and-white portrait, shot by Meisel, Evangelista is holding Moschino’s McDonald’s inspired purse, along with matching heels. However, the portrait possess more of a classic feel within it, rather than the anticipated playful and comedic emotions.
Being that the brand was so popular in the 80s and 90s, it’s fitting that the campaign chose to go the classic black-and-white route, with one of the biggest supermodels of all time, in a pea coat and disheveled, natural hair.
Fans can’t wait to see what else Scott has in store for the campaign, and label as a whole!
