N.W.A Reunion Tour is Set and Eminem Will Be an Honorary Member

Will Eminem be joining N.W.A for their reunion tour? Sure he is not an original member, but Dr. Dre and Ice Cube are up for the idea of making him an honorary member.

The famous late 80s rap group will be getting together for a European reunion tour to promote the premiere of Straight Outta Compton, a movie based on the group’s beginnings. Universal chief Donna Langley tells The Hollywood Reporter how excited she was when N.W.A agreed to reunite for the promotion of the movie.

“We don’t have anything settled yet with everyone’s schedules,” explains Langley. “But we think it can create a lot of buzz.”

As far as adding Slim Shady to the mix, it just made sense. Not only does he feature in the film’s soundtrack, along with Dre and Kendrick Lamar, but he has worked with both Dre and Ice Cube many times in the past.

The trio would be a good mix and will have everyone dying to see three of the world’s most iconic rappers on one stage. Dates or attendees are still not yet finalized for the tour, but it is an exciting concert that will have us all in anticipation.

As far as the group’s movie, Straight Outta Compton, Ice Cube hopes that it could inspire new artists, telling E! News,

“Hopefully the movie inspires new artists to be outspoken about anything that we are frustrated with. Music does have the power to move people. So hopefully this inspires young artists not to be afraid to say what they feel, do what they feel, do it how they want to do it and not be subjected to the social parameters that’s out there. Do what you feel and let the art speak for itself.”

Catch the movie in theaters August 17.
