NARS OPENS NEW UPPER EAST SIDE BOUTIQUE

A brand new Nars Cosmetics boutique opened up at 971 Madison Ave. on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, overlooking the corner of 76th Street, this past week. This is the third New York City location for Nars Cosmetics. Other Manhattan boutiques are located on Bleecker Street, in the West Village, and on Prince Street, in SoHo.

A cocktail party, on the evening of Thursday, May 15, celebrated the store’s opening. Despite mishaps with broken air-conditioning just hours before the event, the Nars team and all attendees enjoyed the launch of the new boutique. According to chief executive officer, Louis Desazars. Waiters, perused the store, offering champagne and Laduree macaroons to the models and beauty aficionados in attendance.

The brand started off in 1994 with 12 shades of lipstick that were sold at Barneys New York, but has grown exponentially since then. It’s most famous products include the universally flattering “Orgasm” line. Nars Cosmetics products are sold in many department stores, including: Sephora, Barneys New York, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, and many others.

Another new store in Las Vegas opened on Sunday, May 25, with  plans to expand locations to San Francisco, Los Angeles and London are underway according to founder François Nars.
