New Miranda Lambert Album ‘Platinum’ is Pure Gold

This week country superstar, Miranda Lambert, released her fifth studio album, “Platinum.” The album has matured with the singer. Lambert has grown and developed in her sound, her manner, her look, and her songs. Some believe it is a direct result of age and in part by help of country singer and the Voice coach, Blake Shelton.

Lambert has said that turning 30 changed her in many ways. She describes this album as “transitional” for her. She wants listeners to hear her maturity of turning 30 and settling into a marriage. She had also said that Blake helps her remember not to take life too seriously. Which is why she decided to make the songs on this album more humorous, than dangerous like some of her previous albums. No more setting ex-boyfriends houses on fire for this chick.

The album features 16 songs, including “Something Bad” featuring Carrie Underwood, and her latest single, “Automatic.”

“Automatic” is a nostalgic song- about the days before technology and social media took over the worlds daily lives. Remember writing letters and sending them in the mail? Having to put a quarter in a payphone to make a call, instead of using the latest iPhone? Lambert sure does. On this album, Miranda sounds like a classic country act, and you know she’s here for the long-run. She’s no longer an angry ex-girlfriend.

Critics and fans are loving the new album and her new sound. The Associated Press commented, “The way she [Lambert] reflects modern women, complete with risque word-play and edgy humor, is what makes Lambert a fully three-dimensional country star.”

There’s no doubt that Miranda has many sides to her: she is very involved in animal rescue, she is a business women- with two of her own stores in Texas and Oklahoma, she has her own shoe line, and she just released another hit album. It doesn’t look like she is ready to slow down, or stop raising hell, anytime soon, and that’s a damn good thing.

The one thing that hasn’t changed about Miranda is that she’s still like the older sister, sharing with us wise life advice and empowering women to take no sh*t from anyone along the way.

Miranda is currently on tour until September.
