Lana Del Rey releases new song from her album ‘Ultraviolence,’ ‘Shades of Cool’

After a busy Memorial Day weekend for Lana Del Rey, performing at the much talked about Kimye wedding reception in Versailles, she leaked two new songs from her new album.

The first single, ‘West Coast’ was released back in April. The second was released Monday, May 26, and already has over a million views on YouTube. ‘Shades of cool’ sounds like the theme song of our nightmares. Her voice, hauntingly beautiful, brings the image of Angelina Jolie in “Maleficent” to mind.

On the track, Lana sings about what sounds like a broken man whose heart is in many places, after many women. “When he calls, he calls for me, and not for you.”

The song is from her new album “Ultraviolence”, which is expected to be released in the United States on June 17 and June 16 in the United Kingdom.

Other songs on the album include: “Cruel World”, “Pretty When You Cry”, “Money Power Glory” and “F–k My Way to the Top”.

The album is available for pre-order on iTunes now. For those who pre-order the album now, they will get “West Coast” and “Shades of Cool.”
