New Saturday Night Live Inspired Ice Cream

Ben & Jerry’s show their love for SNL through their new sketch-inspired ice cream flavors.

The first flavor, called Lazy Sunday, is based off a SNL Digital short featuring Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell who rap through the day they are having. The day revolves around accessing cupcakes. “I love those cupcakes like McAdams loves Gosling,” sings Samberg as he and Parnell stand outside The Magnolia Bakery.

The ice cream will capture all of the wonderful elements of cupcakes that the two men sing about.

According to Ben & Jerry’s, the Lazy Sunday flavor is, “vanilla cake batter ice cream with chocolate & yellow cupcake pieces & a chocolate frosting swirl”.

The second flavor is based off of Kristen Wiig’s quirky character Gilly, who caused mischief, danced around the classroom and never seemed to genuinely be sorry. The ice cream flavor is called Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch. Ben & Jerry’s describe this as, “chocolate & sweet cream ice creams with caramel clusters, fudge-covered almonds & a marshmallow swirl.”

This isn’t the first time that Ben & Jerry’s has created ice cream flavors based on comedy’s favorite skits and actors, in the past, they have based ice creams on characters that both Will Ferrell and Tina Fey have played.

These new flavors won’t be available in cartons, but if you’re interested in trying some of the new flavors they will be available as of June 19th at any of the hundreds of scoop shops run by the ice cream company.
