Roger Federer and NikeLab present an off-court style for the on-court man. They call it, the Unlimited Class Collection.
The 17-time Grand Slam champion tells Nike, “History is like this in tennis…We walk around in tracksuits. If you walk up in a suit to a tennis tournament, they’re like, what’s wrong with you?”
Fortunate for Nike, Roger doesn’t care as the two collaborate on a clean, professional look for the newest line of the NikeLab Summer of Sport celebration series. The NikeCourt x Roger Federer collection will give the fast-paced man equally movement-conscious apparel, while also ensuring an element of classic craftsmanship in its grosgrain detailing.
In Nike’s exclusive interview with the tennis star, we catch a glimpse of Federer holding up a lightweight pocket tee with a five-dot pattern. A native of Switzerland, Roger remarks on the resemblance of detailing to the Swiss cross. That is when we begin to see the line’s commitment to tradition.
“That’s how it all started,” Federer continues, “My collection on the court with Nike has always been about details, and I think this next collection…is going to be exactly that as well.”
Nike ensures the collection will feature both apparel and a line of footwear, all exclusively designed by Federer and the NikeLab team. The collection is set to launch at NikeLab 1948 in London on June 23rd, as its global premiere awaits online and in select NikeLab stores until June 30th.
Is it a coincidence that Federer will debut alongside his collection in London’s Wimbledon Championship next week? We didn’t think so, either.
