I watched the Bethenny show today, as I do most days, but lately I have not been watching as often as I used to. I’ve been a fan of Bethenny Frankel since her “Real Housewives of New York” days, so I was definitely one of the people excited that her show got picked up, and that it filmed in New York. I have even attended a taping of her show once. My excitement for the Bethenny show has certainly fizzled though, and there are a number of reasons for that. One reason is that there are certain episodes where it seems like Bethenny is trying so hard to bring a controversial topic that will make the audience over react to the guests on stage. Bethenny talks about sex way too much on her show; it seems like that is what most of her panel discussions are about therefore so a lot of things are repeated. And lastly Bethenny’s show is not consistent, some days you want to watch, and other days you’ve lost interest. I think this is a major reason why it was recently announced that Bethenny will not be returning for another season. But let’s discuss today’s episode.
Russell Simmons was on today’s episode of Bethenny discussing his new book “Success through Stillness: Meditation Made Easy”. Seeing that he doesn’t make his way around the talk show circuit often, it was refreshing to see Russell in the daytime. He gushed about how great his kids are, and how that is all due to how amazing a mother Kimora is to them. He also spoke about how great him and Kimora’s relationship is and how they are great friends. After he gushed about how great Kimora is, Bethenny caught him off guard when she asked about his new relationship with actress Shannon Elizabeth. He didn’t delve deeply into that subject responding that the relationship was “new”.
Bethenny then went into her segment called “Bethenny in your Business” where she helps small business owners make the right moves to become successful. Today Bethenny helped a lady who has developed an all natural skincare line. Bethenny hired a company to improve her packaging, build her a professional website, and paid for her packaging goods for a year. It was certainly inspiring and a learning experience for current and future business owners.
Bethenny then had Actor Josh Henderson from T.N.T.’s “Dallas” and spoke to him about his girlfriend and his cast mates. She then played a game which she referred to as “The Bold and the Bethenny” where they would each pick a scenario and act it out as if they were on a soap opera. This is honestly where the show got corny and uninteresting, and this is exactly what I mean by the show being inconsistent. Bethenny’s has got a few weeks to go before the end of her show; hopefully she goes out with a bang.
