There’s many ways to get your closet perfectly organized. The first step is committing to doing so. Take the time one weekend or the night when you get home from work. First, follow the golden rule when it comes to organizing: if you haven’t used it in a year, donate it! There’s no sense using precious closet space on things you never wear, or things you “may fit into” once you get your gym routine going. Here’s how some people choose to organize:
Color: Light to dark or dark to light, whichever you prefer. This is the most visually appealing approach to organization.
Style: Organize by the type of clothing item it is. Tank tops with tank tops, jeans with jeans, skirts with skirts, and so on. This provides the easiest means for getting ready. If you’re looking for a certain item of clothing, you know right away where to look for it.
Season: Summer, Winter, Fall, Spring. It’s a good idea to put your winter clothes away during the Summer, and your Summer clothes away in the Winter. This way you’re not using closet space on things you can’t wear for six months, and hey now there’s room for more!
Brand: A really specific way to organize, but some people like to do it. Sort clothes by the store you bought it from.
