Paris Jackson scored a front row seat at a Paris Fashion Week event Jan. 21, according to Chron. She appeared at the Dior Homme Menswear show for fall and winter 2017 and 2018.
Jackson, the 18-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson, is rumored to have started a modeling career recently. The Telegraph reported that she was in Paris, France last week, doing a photo shoot at the Eiffel Tower. According to speculations, the modeling session was for Chanel.
The photoshoot featured World War II era fashions and themes. Jackson was photographed with models dressed like soldiers and with an army vehicle. She appeared in a white skirt and blouse with sheer black gloves and a black belt, carrying the French and American flags and sporting cascading shoulder-length earrings. Another outfit featured a striped red and white shirt, which is a look that has been trending recently, and a bright yellow scarf in her hair. Bright red lipstick complimented both outfits.
If Jackson really is about to launch a job in modeling, it would explain her place at the Dior show; according to The Telegraph, a deal with Chanel could open doors to other designers. Although Jackson does not have prior modeling experience, her appearance in Paris during Fashion Week could mean the start of a successful career. She would not be the first of celebrity children to walk the runway. Other second-generation stars have gone to the fashion world as well.
Jackson drew media attention recently when she criticized Sky Arts’ decision to cast Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson for Urban Myths. Fiennes is a white actor, and his casting caused many Michael Jackson fans to object. Sky Arts decided to pull the episode rather than perpetuate the controversy.
If the rumors about the Chanel deal are true, Jackson can expect to get a lot more notice in the future, as well as look forward to a running start in the modeling industry.
