“For each of our senses there’s an art form: For ears there’s music, for your eyes there’s art, for your nose there’s fragrance, for your taste there is the culinary art, for feeling I say there is love,” the Grammy award winning artist replied when asked why he decided to join a fragrance collaboration.

The “Get Lucky” and “Happy” singer selected Comme des Garçons after meeting with Kawakubo, the designer for the brand, and her husband Joffe. Kawakubo asked the artist if he would be interested in doing a fragrance, and he happily accepted. Because Williams was so sure about the scent he wanted to create, the product was created in a mere six meetings according to Joffe.

Williams is known for his wide array of collaborations with various respected, luxury brands, such as Montcler and Louis Vuitton. He remarks, “When I do a collaboration with brands, I do them with notable masters, so that I can experience the true purpose of collaboration which is to learn.”

“Girl” fragrance markets for $135 for a 100-ml. bottle and $30 for a 10-ml travel sized version.
