Your favorite childhood live-action and cartoon superheroes are coming back to the big screen. Lionsgate has announced the release date for their upcoming “Power Rangers” movie, which is July 22nd, 2016.
The movie will be following the story of high school kids who gain extraordinary superpowers and use them to save the world. This will be an adaptation of the Fox Kids TV show ‘The Power Rangers’ which was released in 1993. The last ‘Power Rangers’ movie was ‘The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Movie,’ which was released in 1995.
According to Variety, the script is being written by Ashley Miller, Zack Stentz Haim Saban, Brian Casentini, and Allison Shearmurand and is being produced by Roberto Orci. The cast and director has not been released yet.
