Professional Sex Toy Tester

Cara Houiellebecq, 33, is a mother of two from Lincoln, England. Her profession requires her to have 15 orgasms a week for which she earns about 20K per year. The apparent dream-job is being a professional sex-toy-tester.

Cara’s career took off after she created an erotic blog five years ago.  “Gradually my reviews became more and more prolific and I was noticed by a sex toy company who wanted me to work for them. Now, manufacturers and sellers will ask if they can send stuff to me because so many people read my reviews.” Cara explained.

However, Cara manages to keep her professional life separated from her family life, refraining from discussing her work around them. Her two kids are nine and 19-months old.

Cara currently has an office which features over 2,000 toys that she tests for adult companies. She spends about 7 hours a week testing and then reviewing the products. These companies pay Cara to write a review of their product on her blog.

Free sex toys from all over England are delivered to Cara’s home about four or five times a week. She previously worked for a sex toy website for two years but then left in February 2012 to launch her own business.

On the occupation, Cara stated: “Toys have always been a part of my private sex life – it gave me the idea to start writing about my sex life and I had the idea to start testing sex toys. It’s a great job, I’ve worked in a bank before but I’d never go back to that now – it’s never boring.”
