The girls are back in town! According to multiple sources including Variety and The Huffington Post, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have joined up to produce their next comedic smash hit. The queens of comedy have already hosted the Golden Globes twice together as well as co-starring in Baby Mama, so hopes are high that they will once again produce comedic gold.
The Nest will depict the story of two sisters returning home for one last weekend before their parents sell their childhood house, with all of the hilarious chaos that ensues. With an official release date of December 18, 2015, Universal is feeling quite confident that this dynamic duo has the ability to steal ticket payers away from Disney’s highly anticipated new edition to the Star Wars series.
Poehler and Fey will once again bring a fresh breath of air into the genre of comedy. They have proven that they are more than just eye candy and expectations are high for the pair to produce comedy on par with their past performances such as, Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock. In addition Jason Moore, the director of Pitch Perfect, has signed onto the project. And if all these names are not enough, Variety has reported that Saturday Night Live writer, Paula Pell, has found the time to craft the script. Only the eventual release of the film will tell, but it appears as if Universal as put together a combination that is sure to win.
