It’s not everyday that you hear of a major designer giving back to the people. American designer, Ralph Lauren, has done just that! Ralph Lauren, who is a part of the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Compaign, has a made a generous “multi-million dollar” contribution to London’s Royal Marsden Hospital. The hospital is known as the largest cancer treatment and research facility in Europe!
Lauren told WWD, “England is very important for me, I’ve been here for years. It’s a place I love, so it was a natural thing. And the Royal Marsden is major.” He goes on to say how important this contribution is to the company as it continues to grow, saying, “We’ve become a more international brand and company, and so I think more internationally now.” The Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer will be opened in 2015, with 6,383-square-feet of research dedicated space.
Ralph Lauren’s passion for the people shows not just in their designs, but in this generous donation as well. The label has shown to the world that you can’t put a price tag on the health of their consumers, with this multi million dollar donation. In celebration for such a major event, both in Cancer Treatment, and the designer label’s history, a gala dinner will be held at Windsor Castle, this evening.
