Remember Raven-Symoné from The Cosby Show and Disney Channel’s That’s So Raven? Well, Disney lovers can rejoice in knowing that they will be seeing more of her with her new gig; Raven-Symoné will be the new cohost of The View alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Nicolle Wallace, and Rosie Perez.
The Disney star has been guest cohosting on the show since March 2015, so it only seems fitting that she become a full time cohost. Whoopi Goldberg said, before getting cut off by screaming fans, that, “We are happy to announce Raven-Symoné is now permanently part of The View.” Right after this announcement, Raven walked out to the very appropriate song “Celebrate” while a confetti cannon blasted the audience.
In reaction to all of the commotion, Raven said,
“I am so happy. I remember coming on The View when I was 15 years old for the first Cheetah Girls. I’m very happy to be sitting with these smart, talented mentors.”
Raven’s genuine character was not lost on her fans as she hugged her new cohosts and gave them each a gift: watermelon, chips, chocolate and tres leches cake. Even guest cohost of the day, Iliza Shlesinger, got bacon!
In a statement, Raven said,
“The Disney Company has made another one of my dreams come true… I want to thank ABC, ABC News and The Disney Company for believing in me and my potential! Let’s have some fun!”
Creator and Executive Producer of The View, Barbara Walters, said,
“Raven- Symoné is a welcome addition to The View. She is happy, amusing and well informed, and has already brought a unique perspective to the program that has resonated with our audience.”

I’ve seen a few clips of Raven on “The View” and she’s very opinionated. Could be a good voice for the younger generation
