The extravagant Mr and Mrs. Guidice of RHOHJ, have fallen on some hard times, some hard prison time that is. The story has been putting the media in a tail spin since news surfaced about the couples fraudulent activities.
The federal court indicted Guiseppe and Teresa back in July of 2013, on 39 separate charges. Most of which are related to “fraudulently obtained funds from banks.” Thusly, the court obtained information revealing that Guisepi or “Joe” Guidice, is residing in the States illegally.
The 33 page indictment states the couple attempted to commit mail and wire fraud and that they falsely documented their earrings on numerous bank/income tax statements. The document goes onto to show that Teresa did not claim any earnings from her work on the Real Housewives Show.
At 4p.m. today a U.S. District court Judge sentenced Teresa to 15 months in prison. Sentencing her husband a “ staggered” sentence of four years.
Just before the Judge delivered their sentences the couple had this to say;
Teresa: “ I take full responsibility for my action’s.” And “ I’m more sorry than anyone will ever know.”
Joe: “ I take for responsibility for my actions and the consequences.” “ I am humiliated.”
Teresa will be the first to serve time, beginning her sentence January 5th, 2015.
