In the world of fashion, trends make grand arrivals, sashaying their way down runways in top cities like Paris, New York and London. One evening while brainstorming, a fashion designer comes up with the next hit trend, and in a matter of weeks, it’s plastered on supermodels. It then descends the hierarchy to be adopted and worn by millions of consumers who will eventually, in a year or so, leave it behind to chase after the next latest trend. It has happened time and time again, from the rise of bell bottoms and their sudden but expected decline to the rage that was velour tracksuits in the early 2000s. It’s no secret that fashion shifts tide swiftly.
With all that said, just as everything has an end, they all have a rebirth as well. It could be that one evening while reminiscing on an outfit a person wore five years ago, and so he or she decides to go ahead and try it on—solely for research purposes, of course. While twisting and turning in front of the mirror, he or she could realize that it actually looks alright. So the person wears it the next day to school or work or wherever, and this initiates something in his or her friends and coworkers so that they go home and do the same thing. Thus a trend is reborn! Pretty soon, those high up in the fashion world will notice the shift and create their own new take on the old trend.
