Rena Lange, a popular German womenswear label, has a new creative director, effective yesterday!

Meet Ludwig Heissmeyer, yummy fashion designer and the former design director at Carolina Herrera. Heissmeyer will be succeeding Annick Gorman at Rena Lange, who was leaving the label after only being in the position for a year and a half. Heissmeyer will be responsible for the vision and inspiration behind Rena Lange’s designs. Along with this, he has the task of completing all of the brand’s collection.

Based in Munich, the FIT graduate’s very first collection in his position with the label will be their pre-fall 2015 collection. Claudia Rudigier, the owner of the label with her partner, Siegmund, under the Rudigier and Partner Group, will be in charge of all of Heissmeyer’s work.

Seeing the new position as a great milestone for Heissmeyer, Siegmund Rudigier told WWD that “It’s a great step. Ludwig has spent the last 17 years in New York, but has German roots,” Rudigier stated, further explaining that Hiessmeyer is very valuable to label since he “…knows the European, German and international markets. It’s important we get more modern and contemporary without losing the quality of our heritage.”
