The singer had assistance carrying her dress through stairs and the entirety of the carpet for her heavy train she was dragging in the back.

With tickets being $25,000 per person, she made sure to go all out and make a statement. The yellow gown is embroidered and has fur lining on all edges of the dress. The color represents the emperors in Imperial Chinese society making Rihanna a figure of royalty, of course.

Many comments on her choice of dress hit social media with the hashtag, #slayanna. Many joked that the singer’s dress was similar to an omelete.

Yet, what people did not see on the red carpet may have been the bigger showstopper of the piece. The gown under the yellow frock was designed by Guo Pei and was said to be a stunning gown.

Rihanna’s choice of designer made sense for the Western interpretation of Chinese influence theme. Though Guo Pei was not a large designer shown on the red carpet by other celebrities his Chinese designs were perfect for the nights event.
