Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan welcomed a baby girl into the world this Wednesday morning. The actor made a public announcement on his Facebook page.
“Yep.. Avri Role Downey joined the party @ 3:22 a.m. On November 4th…. she’s 7 pounds even, spans 20 inches, and is accompanied by a variety of Susan’s traits that have seemingly overwritten my junk DNA.”
The couple has a two and half year old son, Exton Elis. And Robert Downey Jr. has a son from a previous marriage, Indio, 21.
“It’s just the uncertainty of how nowadays you have all these things where you think you have much more of an understanding of what you’re going to get. “And then this little soul lets herself be known to you, and it’s just like: You don’t know anything. It’s great!”
The 49 year old Iron Man star received a Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film. While he was on stage he asked his producer wife, who was in the crowd, to stand up.
“The secondary pregnancy has been extraordinarily tough for me. Self-prescribed mandatory bed rest was of some benefit. At least my mild is finally coming in.” He went on to compliment his wife, “how is she still so darn pretty and functional and mood-stable?” People Magazine Reports
