Rodarte will be returning to the New York runway this fall.
The designers revealed the news via Instagram last Monday night, saying, “We are excited to announce we will be showing our [spring 2019] collection during NYC Fashion Week. We are thrilled to create the show with our amazing team: Brian Phillips and Black Frame, Alex de Betak and Bureau Betak, IMG and our beauty and hair teams: James Kaliardos using NARS Cosmetics, Odile Gilbert for TRESemmé hair.”
Phillips told Women’s Wear Daily in a 2018 report, that the show is planned for Sept. 9, but a location hasn’t been determined yet. For the last three seasons, Rodarte has been showing in Paris, once in a runway setting and the other two times with showroom appointments. “They’re excited to be back,” Phillips said.

According to the brand’s website, founders Kate and Laura Mulleavy received their liberal arts degrees from the University of California at Berkeley in 2001. Kate studied art history with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th centuries. Laura focused her studies on literature and the Modern Novel. Kate and Laura were raised in Northern California.
Following their graduation from Berkeley, both Kate and Laura returned to their home in Los Angeles where they launched their brand Rodarte. The name “Rodarte” is of Spanish origin, taken from Kate and Laura’s mother’s maiden name.
