Sainsbury’s Christmas Ad – Christmas is For Sharing

Sainsbury’s, a famous British store has released their official Christmas ad for 2014. Putting a bit of history in, they reenact the Great War’s (WWI) Christmas Truce.

The Christmas Truce took place on December 25th, 1914 when German soldiers began singing Silent Night from their bitter cold trench. Determined not to let the misery of war and death get them down on Christmas, the British joined in and sang along. Two languages and two rival cultures were able to call a truce for 48 hours and share gifts together. The gifts weren’t much, merely the items they had on them to share, drinks, trinkets and chocolate.

With everything that’s going on in your life, it’s important to take a moment and set everything aside, the stress, the materialistic gifts and just remember the true meaning of Christmas, sharing and spending time with those around you. Happy (almost) Holidays.
