Welcome to the world Sienna May Ivery! “Grey’s Anatomy,” star, Ellen Pompeo, 44, and husband music producer Chris Ivery, 46, welcome second child via secret surrogate mother.
The surrogacy and birth were kept very hush-hush in order to maintain the couple and surrogate mother’s privacy. Via Instagram, the star thanks her fellow cast members for keeping the subject private.
Pompeo explained that the discreet concept is actually fun and has become very good at it. The mayor of New York City privately married the couple back in 2007. It was five days before the nuptials were announced. As Little Sienna May was born two months ago, the couple seems to be getting better with covert operations.
Recently on Jimmy Kimmel, Pompeo jokes about her excellent secret skills and explains the insemination process. She explains that they both have to do their thing. The egg and sperm mesh together and then it becomes an embryo. It is then inserted into the surrogate mother. According to Pompeo, keeping the mother’s identity and privacy quiet was very important as they held hands during the insemination process and prayed.
Pompeo has an older daughter, Stella Luna Ivery who just celebrated birthday #5 on Sept. 15.
