Actress and singer Selena Gomez has revealed yet another tattoo by tattoo artist, Bang Bang McCurdy, located on her upper back. McCurdy spoke with E! News about the 21-year-old pop star’s new tattoo—a simple black tattoo that translates to “Love Yourself First” in Arabic.
The artist himself dishes to E! about the ink, saying, “Selena already had it written out how she wanted. The tattoo is about 4 inches, and didn’t take too long—probably about 30-45 minutes. The longest part is laying it out. We played with it a bit by laying it out until we found the perfect spot.”
McCurdy, who has tattooed big-name celebrities including Rihanna, Cara Delevingne, Rita Ora and Justin Bieber, was sure to satisfy Gomez, who has tattooed the “Come and Get It” singer three times. He boasted to E!, “She loved it; she flipped out!”
Despite rumors that Gomez got the tattoo as a cryptic message to on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber, sources told Hollywood Life that “she didn’t get the tattoo because they are broken up—they weren’t broken up at the time… They obviously love each other, that’s something that I know… relationships are complicated.”
Gomez, certainly pleased with her new ink uploaded a photo to her Instagram account with the caption, “Art by @bangbangnyc –from my first to my last. It’s always this fool.”
As for another tattoo, McCurdy told E! that the old “Wizards of Waverly Place” actress is already talking about more designs.
