This summer will mark the 20th anniversary of “Clueless,” the witty teen-comedy that provided endless taglines –as if- and flashy fashion choices that made Cher Horowitz -and her diverse posse- 90s style icons. The movie’s popularity never faded- a cult classic- evident in the current surge of knee socks, crop tops and fake-tattoo choker necklaces available at the mall. Paying tribute to a decade that also gave us the Spice Girls and Britney Spears is possibly not this generation’s intention- or perhaps it is.

Today, a clothing store like Forever21 can probably provide for an entire stock of 90s wardrobe whether Fresh Prince hip hop attire, grungy- goth, Blossom’s-floral accents or clothing with a valley girl vibe. The affordable clothing store even sells scrunchies- their comeback is still questionable. Particularly over the last few years, overalls -providing flashbacks of girl group TLC- have also reemerged in fashion.
