There is a debate that men do not know how to be chivalrous, but have you ever thought that maybe you don’t know how to pinpoint chivalry? Here are a few signs that he is being chivalrous.
1. He holds the door open
If he opens and holds the door open for you, letting you in first, he has manners and understands his role. Whether it is your car door or the door to a store, he should be opening it for you.
2. Rings your doorbell
How much of a turn off is it to be on your first date and the way that your date notifies you that he is outside through a text, phone call, or the honk of his horn? He doesn’t even try to get out of his car to ring the doorbell the old fashion way.
3. Pulls out your chair
When you are at a restaurant, it would be nice for him to pull your chair out upon sitting. Hopefully he isn’t a goofball and does not pull the chair out too far with the result of you sitting on the floor.
4. Letting a woman/elderly have their seat
Ever noticed how your morning commute there always seems to be an elderly woman, or maybe even a pregnant woman get on the bus or train, and none of the men even blink an eye to let them sit? That is rude and they should be ashamed of themselves. However, when you finally do witness a guy give up his seat for a woman, your heart melts and you gain a sense of hope for humanity.
