Skye McCole Bartusiak Dies at 21

Actress Skye McCole Bartusiak, who is known for her role as the daughter of Mel Gibson’s character in “The Patriot” has died. She passed away in her home in Houston, Texas, at the age of 21. Her mother confirmed her death on Sunday, July 20.

Her boyfriend found her dead in her bed on Saturday. Helen Bartusiak, her mother, tried to resuscitate Skye but unfortunately failed to do so. Skye was close to her parents, as Helen Bartusiak told the Associated Press that she lived in a garage apartment in her parent’s home.

Helen Bartusiak has stated that Skye was a healthy girl, who did not drink or use drugs. Her family does not know her cause of death as of yet.

Skye’s acting debut was for the television series, “Storm of the Century,” which was released in 1999. She had a role in the Fox show, “24,” in both 2002 and 2003.
