Geraldo Da Conceicao’s first resort collection for Sonia Rykiel was just last year, where he proved his passion for knitwear with his pastel colored knit dresses. Last week, Rykiel announced that Julie de Libran would be the brand’s new artistic director. For 2015 resort, the label moves forward by looking back on the looks that made the brand famous.

The 1970’s undone “démodé” look, which featured pleated knit skirts, striped drop-waist dresses and glittery double-lurex coats, wasn’t the only era for this designer that was revisited for 2015 Resort. A return to gamine Bridgette Bardot, with high-waisted trousers and Harley Davidson inspired leather jackets, also graced the floor. So before Libran takes flight, Conceicao decided to make an effort to relive this playful motif

“A young Jack Nicholson,” was one of his many inspirations. This season’s theme, “Urban Poetry,” showcases Men’s tie motifs, with matching cropped pants and translucent trench coats, bonded with red and pink lace. The line was exuberant with Parisian irreverence.

The lookbook being shot in Paris’ Bank captured the natural and romantic vibe of the entire collection. There were red looks to marvel at, a daisy covered silk woven and a minimalistic little black dress with pleated finishes.

Libran will debut her first collection for Sonia Rykiel this fall.
