Spanx is set to launch a new line of clothing: denim jeans.
Spanx helps control and disguise any unflattering features on yourself under your clothes.
According to Spanx it, “Now houses over 200 products ranging from slimming apparel and swimsuits, to bras, active wear and men’s undershirts.”
The new clothing style will launch in July. According to Women’s Wear Daily, two styles of jeans will be released: The Signature and Slim X. The company currently sells denim leggings at $59.99, which contain details that jeans have, but not the actual conveniences.
The actual jeans are more than double the price of the leggings, but offer different amounts of rise to the waist. The Signature has a 10.5 inch rise, and Slim X has a 9.25 inch rise.
Sara Blakely told WWD, “I see Spanx has a lifestyle brand that is delighting women in making things it better and feel better on the body and not just through compression. We’re known for making you look thinner and more toned, but it can just be about a better cut and fit.”
Jeans of this design have been marketed before, such as jeggings — jean leggings — and pajama jeans, but neither could do exactly what Spanx is trying to. They’re making jeans that make your whole figure look good, while also being jeans. This could mean a higher waist, or a different cut, because sometimes it’s not so much your body shape, but how the jeans are made.
