Stella McCartney is known for her commitment to animal-friendly, sustainable fashion. The designer, who is a vegan herself, has always paved the way by including the latest in sustainable, non-animal substitutes when it comes to the materials used in her designs. In a climate that is shifting more and more toward ethical fashion, McCartney has certainly been at the forefront much talk in the industry.

Thus, her newest collaboration with Adidas is going to be a really big deal. According to outlets, the ADIDAS BY STELLA MCCARTNEY collection will reflect the designer’s usual ethos; using eco-friendly non-animal materials such as organic cotton, recycled polyester, ocean plastic, and econyl yarn.

Aiming toward Fall/Winter 2018, the collection will consist of running shoes and activewear that are meant to “empower female athletes.” The clothing will contain Adidas’s Climaheat technology, meaning that one can wear it while braving the elements. Most pieces feature an animal/nature motif, paying an homage to what was really at the focus of these designs.

In a statement, McCartney says “As the brand at the pinnacle of female sports performance and style, we have a responsibility to provide women with a choice that allows them to be part of a solution through our sustainable pieces and practices. More than half of our apparel and a third of our footwear in FW18 are made with eco-innovative and recycled materials, such as Parley’s Ocean Plastic. It’s time to be the difference we want to see. To act now and to mean more in all we do.”
