In modern times, we flock to the movies to see our favorite hero’s like Captain America, Batman, Iron Man, and Wonder Woman, catch the bad guys. We are always enticed by their suits because let’s face it, the wardrobe makes the character; unless you’re Tony Stark and you’re just awesome because you’re Tony Stark.
But imagine if the Joker didn’t have his creepy clown costume? Would we even consider him scary? Probably not. He’d just be some normal really creepy guy instead of the “The Joker” (cue horrifying laughter).
Let’s think outside the box here, you have your heroes, your villains and their epic one of a kind outfit. Bear with me here, but what if we change the century. Instead of 2014, we jump into Emit Browns (Doc) DeLorean, punch in 1600 BC (make sure we have enough fuel, no need to pull a Marty here) and 88 miles per hour, BAM. What would our favorite characters look like? There is a total change of fashions here. I mean it’s the time of Shakespeare and that spiral things he wears around his neck.
Photographer Sacha Goldberg took some childhood inspiration and added some 16th century flair. According to The Telegraph, “Over 100 people participated in the project, including 5 costume designers, 7 makeup artists and 5 hairdressers. The collection was exhibited at the School Olivier Castaing Gallery in Paris and in Paris Photo.”
