The year of 2016 has had many moments of celebrity drama. Lately, Taylor Swift has been in the eyes of the press. Taylor Swift’s sudden spark in popularity has not necessarily been due to her great deeds. Most of the media have been focused on the drama that appears to have originated from the super star.
The first thing that happened was that Taylor Swift got together with the famous actor, Tom Hiddleston. This is great and good for her. However, Swift was in a relationship with the DJ Calvin Harris before this. People can break up and move on, yet this has not been the norm for Swift. Many attributed the breakup to a loss of interest possibly on both sides.
In the past, Swift tended to go through a break period after her relationships ended. The time period between the relationships is awfully close together. Many speculate that this was due to her and Harris ending on a good note. This would be believable if Swift hadn’t gone through a rather dramatic change after the breakup. Swift went bleach blond and her clothes switched from a classy modern to an edgy, goth goddess. Which is very interesting considering the fact that Swift has had more or less the same look for most of her career.
After a bad breakup, many people find the need to change themselves. They go get new clothes or a new haircut. This is basically to say something along the lines of “I’m my own person and I don’t need them.” Which maybe it was not and Swift simply fell in love with goth fashion. No one really knows for sure. Yet whatever fashion style the star chooses, she rocks both pretty well.
So style for Swift changed and then she and Tom Hiddleston started dating. The odd thing is her style kind of reverted back to the vintage classy girly look. This seems odd because she had made such a drastic change in her public appearance. After the two started appearing in public, Swift seemed to be completely back to her normal self. As weird as this is, the relationship between the two seems to be even more strange.
In the beginning, there was speculation on whether or not the two were even really dating. On the Internet, there was even a theory about the couple being together for shooting a music video. At times on the tour, it seemed suspicious that Swift wore similar outfits she had worn with previous dates. That sounds far fetched. However, the real idea leading to speculation was that the spots the couple were seen together at were also similar. This means that she wore similar dress in similar backgrounds. Could this be a music video? It might be or she just really likes to hang out at these particular places in the same clothes.
The music video theory is a little out there. Yet Hiddleston was also seen sporting a shirt that read “I heart T.S.” within the presence of Taylor Swift. Some view this as a gesture of love. Others find this behavior simply odd. Yet Tom Hiddleston did eventually confirm that he and Swift were together.
All this was great and dandy. Both were finally officially together in the public eye. Then problems arose with Calvin Harris, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West. Basically, Calvin Harris and Taylor Swift were in a social media battle to erase every trace of their relationship. Then Calvin Harris made some jabs at Swift through social media. The comments make Swift appear not as forthcoming as she claims to be.
A similar view is seen in the battle between Swift, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West. Kayne West released a song with derogatory lyrics directed towards Taylor Swift. Taylor denied that she had approved these lyrics to be said about her. Then, Kim Kardashian West released a recording of Kanye West asking permission for some, but not all, of the derogatory lyrics.
The two issues really appear to crack the foundation of Swift’s career. This is because she has appeared to have been so honest for so long. She has had her issues, though, as everyone does in life. At this point, it remains unclear as to what will result from the allegations laid against each party. One thing that is most definitely guaranteed, each star is going to remain famous. What exact light they will be remembered in after this depends on what happens next.
