Taylor Swift was spotted with her rumored boyfriend Joe Alwyn. The star was looking casual darting into her apartment in Tribeca wearing a hoodie dress that she used to conceal her identity, as many stars do in an attempt to hide from the paparazzi. The “Look What You Made Me Do” singer also carried an across-the-body bag by Etro. Taylor Swift sported lace-up ankle boots in her sprint.

Since her latest releases have been so popular, the singer is likely just looking for some privacy. “Look What You Made Me Do” was such a shock to fans that they went wild. In the song, she seems to kill off the “former Taylor,” who her fans came to know as kind and sweet, in a strange call with an unidentified caller. In the music video, she kills off her characters from previous videos, such as the nerdy girl from “You Belong With Me” and she even kills off her reputation.

The music video is full of symbolism aimed towards Taylor Swift’s enemies. She makes fun of Kim Kardashian being robbed in Paris at gun point. She takes aim at critics who claim she has no variance of demography in her friend group by featuring clones in the video.

Additionally, she referenced her problems with Katy Perry. Taylor Swift told Rolling Stone, in regards to her issue with the singer, “It wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.” She added, “And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational – you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

In the video, Taylor Swift crashed a gold plated car, and an exotic cat can be seen sitting in the front seat before she got out and held up a Grammy award. Many of Katy Perry’s fans call themselves “kitty kats” in reference to their beloved favorite artist, but Katy Perry herself has very famously never won a Grammy. Additionally, she also drives a gold plated truck, which may have been the reason a gold vehicle was featured in the video.

Some of the dancers in Taylor Swift’s new video faced backlash for their participation, and collaboration with the artist. Some critics claimed that Taylor was ripping off Beyoncé’s work. Todrick Hall danced for both artists and was labelled by some as a sellout. He said, “One of the main things that people said was, ‘He wanted to make his money. Well, good for him, he got paid. And I guess payment is enough for you to sell out your family, your people, your community.’ But this had nothing to do with money. I didn’t do this Taylor Swift video for money.”

He added, “I did it because she’s my friend, and she was very excited about it. And she wanted people to be there who she could trust, because it was a very big undertaking. I was proud to be there, but money was not a factor for me. I don’t do things for money.”

In regards to the rumors that he helped Taylor Swift copy Beyoncé’s work, Todrick Hall also said, “They saw a clip, just a few seconds, that featured Taylor Swift standing in a line of dancers, and they started forming all types of conclusions. I was just very confused by that, because I knew that there was nothing ‘Formation’-esque or ‘Lemonade’-esque about the video.” He continued, “Artistically, I didn’t feel that was the case. I’m a humongous Beyoncé fan. I’ve worked with Beyoncé. I’ve choreographed for Beyoncé. And I would never intentionally be a part of art that I felt was ripping off my favorite artist of all time. But I felt like these were two completely different lanes.”
