Warm weather requires a necessary change to one’s everyday skin day routines. Instead of moisturizing, you’re oil blotting. Instead of chapped lips, you have sunburned lips.
Here are the products you should keep in your bag, for your skincare needs, in order to look good throughout the whole summer day:
SPF Moisturizers: Even though your skin might be oilier this time of year, that doesn’t mean you still don’t need to hydrate it. Use a light moisturizer with a high SPF in it, under your make up, for the day so that no matter where you are you know your face is protected from the sun. If you’re trying out a new moisturizer, remember to test it out on your arm before you apply it to your face, in case your skin reacts badly to it.
Lip balm: Believe it or not, your lips can get burned to if they’re exposed to enough sun. During the sunny months, you should make sure to use a balm that has SPF in it.
Dry shampoo: This comes in spray and powder form. Keep a travel sized on in your purse at all times. This can be applied to the roots of your hair on a particularly hot day and will absorb any extra oil, leaving your hair shiny.
Oil blotting sheets and translucent powder: Oil blotting sheets can be used under and over your make up to absorb any extra oil that might be on your skin. They are inexpensive and come in large quantities. They can be used as much or little as you need them. Translucent powder is white but goes on your skin clear and when used with a powder brush, it absorbs any extra oil that may be on your skin after you apply your make up.
Fruity perfumes: Even if you can’t be on a tropical beach right now, it doesn’t mean you can’t smell as if you are. Citrus and tropical scents are the perfect way to make you feel as if you’re lying on the beaches of Jamaica, even if you’re at the public pool.
Water: Drinking water has numerous health benefits, and is essential to keep you hydrated. On top of that, water also helps to slow down your skin’s oil and sweat production.
