The iPhone 13 has not been released and Apple has not told us when it will be available officially, but here is an idea of the changes from the iPhone 12 and new additions.
Everyone freaked out when the yummy colors were released but other than that there is nothing too exciting or wildly different. Unless you are really pedantic about what you need in a phone- or you are a tech geek who gets excited about new technology.
If you are vain though, there is plenty to be happy about. The camera. Which is all most people care about anyway. Apple has confirmed that the rear camera is much bigger, the iPhone 12 Pro Max was 14.10 mm. The new iPhone 13 Pro Max will be 16.99mm. The mini iPhones will also have the large camera but will have two instead of three like the pro max.
Meaning pictures taken during golden hour will be better than ever. And generally better images at night, especially. The jump in camera size between the 12 and the 13 is said to be the biggest in Apple history. Increasing by 20%.
Apple heard people’s cries about the notch and made it smaller. iPhone users want the notch gone completely, but this is what they have to settle for, for now. The iPhone 13 Pro Max notch is 34.62 mm, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max notch – 26.31 mm.Â
Personally, I am excited about the possible return of the touchpad. The faulty face ID has caused problems for so many, and honestly, after the iPhone 10, it lost its novelty. Everyone knows some people look completely different with makeup on compared to their normal no makeup face, and nobody needs to be reminded of that every time you try to unlock your phone. It is hurtful. And passive aggressive.
But the touch pad return seems to be a rumor, and there is no concrete evidence that it really is coming back.
Features such as buttons and the lighting port have stayed the same. While the dimensions have not stayed the same completely, the changes are minor. The iPhone 12 Pro Max was 160.80 x 78.10 x 7.47 mm. The iPhone 13 Pro Max will be 160.85 x 78.08 x 7.52 mm.Â
A good idea, because Apple users since the release of the iPhone 10 Pro have complained about their hands hurting, from how heavy iPhones are getting and the constantly increasing size, and the phone gets bigger when you put a screen protector and a cover. Which is probably why they toned it down this time.
Cooler features such as Promotion display, 5G modems, improved Wi-Fi speed and range and better power efficiency – have not been confirmed either.
Right now, the iPhone 13 features are educated guesses, and some are waiting with excitement, while others are shocked at the rate Apple keeps producing these phones at. One day you have just upgraded and the next thing you know there is a new one out already. And Apple has not let the pandemic slow them down. Apparently, they are ahead of schedule, so it looks like the delay that was expected.
