Fashion is not only an innovative collaboration of art and style but it’s also designed to challenge not only the designer, but also the wearer. Shapes, structures and even textures can fool our minds into thinking one way, but the moment we tilt our heads, we see something entirely different. A debate has spread over the Internet about a dress, and what damn color it actually is.
It started with a wedding and the mother of the bride trying to decide whether or not to wear the dress. She snapped a photo and sent it off for debate. “What happened was two of my close friends were actually getting married and the mother of the bride took a photo of the dress to send to her daughter,” singer Caitlin McNeill of the band Canach told Business Insider. “When my friend showed the dress to her fiancé, they disagreed on the color.”
The entire wedding party was up in arms as the two variations were in question. Now that it’s hit Tumblr and Twitter, more and more people have had their say. Including Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Ellen DeGeneres.
I don’t understand this odd dress debate and I feel like it’s a trick somehow. I’m confused and scared. PS it’s OBVIOUSLY BLUE AND BLACK

And for everyone asking I see blue and black

From this day on, the world will be divided into two people. Blue & black, or white & gold. http://t.co/xJeR7GldwP pic.twitter.com/i6BwVzPzSZ

Many people insist that they see white and gold, but others are saying that they see blue and black. Which color combination is it? If you tilt your head one way you will see the white and gold, but if you move your computer screen, you can see the colors change right before your eyes. It then turns blue and black. It’s an optical illusion, our eyes and brains playing tricks on us. Or is it?
What colors do you think the dress is?

I’ve only seen blue and black… my roommate saw one that literally changed from white and gold to blue and black! it doesn’t make any type of sense and months later I’m still confused
