When you see ad campaigns for Thom Browne you usually notice one thing right away: lack of color. The neutrals commonly used contribute to the story behind the pictures. He is well known for putting together elaborate out of the ordinary scenes, made to send a message to his audience. What you can always count on from Browne is surprise. You will never be able to predict what he will do next.
Thom Browne told WWD,
“People think I only do gray and navy, so I’m throwing it in everybody’s face.”
His 2015 resort collection is like a breath of fresh air, as he has jumped onboard the floral craze. In typical Thom Browne fashion, he has taken the floral obsession and made it new, and not boring. The print is not your typical cute sunflower or daisy pattern, but an ugly gerbera daisy.
Of course there are some classic pieces in the collection: a black and white printed blazer, and a navy blue silk blazer with red trimming. The tailored coats look like a regular blazer from the front, but the back has a long train. There is a black, white, and gray floral print, and a solid black coat embellished with pink and blue flowers giving an Alice in Wonderland feel.
The most interesting from the collection reflects the ugly pattern and is a gray polo midi dress. An interesting twist to floral dresses: a floral skater dress with a patch of mossy green covering the shoulders.

Thank you, Mr. Browne for always providing us with interesting cuts and keeping overused designs fresh. That time that we said we were so over the floral trend? We take it back.
