Tibi’s designer Amy Smilovic opted for a nautical sailor vibe with her Resort 2015 lineup. With its naval-inspired prints, bateau stripes, toggle sweaters, and rope accents, the designer held true to the oceanic theme. Almost every look in the collection conjured up images upon a ship alongside gritty tattooed seamen.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, the New York based designer was inspired to conjure up a nautical themed collection after spotting a tattooed stranger on the subway who donned some true blue sailor stripes. The classic sailor striped pattern was a motif throughout the collection, seen on the sleeves of well-crafted jackets, on pull-over sweaters, and on a pair of wide pants. Another postcard-esque print that kept with the traveling theme was seen on a tiny pair of shorts and worked well on a structured sundress.

Smilovic accounts for almost any type of sea weather—she incorporated a black bikini top for those sunny dips in the ocean, a navy blue, bell-sleeved poncho for stormy nights, and various toggle sweaters to throw on for  laid-back cooler days at sea.

While the majority of women out there aren’t quite embarking on any maritime adventures any time soon, Smilovic’s nautical themed collection is sure to be a hit for even the most city-inclined women out there.
