After 5 years of planning and renovation the Tiffany and Co will have a new store on the famous street, Champs Elysees. Champs Elysees is lined with luxury retail stores, cafes, and cinemas and is one of the most famous streets in the world and the most expensive real estate. This is a major step for the luxury jeweler since Paris attracts 85 million visitors a year and about 100 million visitors walk down Champs. Also in the neighborhood is another luxury jeweler and competitor Cartier. The company already has three small stores in Paris but this store opening is major event for the company. The presence of Tiffany and Co at Champs will mark the company officially as an international luxury brand. The store opening also marks a milestone of Tiffany’s relationship with Paris. In 1850 the company established its first store and at the Paris World’s Fair in 1867, Tiffany was the first American firm to win an award for excellence in silverware. In 1999, Tiffany returned to Paris with its first store on rue de la Paix.
The new store space is about 975 square meters and is a multi-level store. The storefront will have the design of New York art deco meets Parisian Chic. The store will have three private salons and a library that will display the famous Tiffany yellow diamond. The diamond will be on display throughout the summer following its inauguration on June 10. The diamond will be on loan but it will certainly add a special spark to Tiffany’s new edition. The store will feature the company’s high end line collection, fine jewelry, fashion jewelry, celebration rings, and accessories like sunglasses. Tiffany’s Marc Jachett is pleased with the opening and the location, even though he claims there are plenty of fantastic sites for Tiffany stores but Champs is the best, because after all Paris is Paris, the fashion capital.
