This Wednesday, British mega-retailer Topshop opened up its flagship store on 5th avenue in Manhattan. The 40,000 square feet store is the second largest Topshop ever—housing the complete Topshop and Topman collections (that’s right, it’s all at fifth). Officially unveiling at 12 p.m., Topshop lovers gathered around way before that, with about sixty people on line before 10 a.m.
Topshop employees passed out Topshop-emblazoned macaroons, hot chocolate, and goodie bags (the first 250 people on line received a gift card—$20 was the minimum amount), cream blush, eyeliner, metallic Skinny Dip iPhone case, and a ballot for a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to London!), while men and women anxiously awaited for Cara Delevingne to christen the retailer’s new location. Other celebrities in attendance were actor Max Irons, Guy/Girl Code favorite Chris Distefano kept the crowd on its toes until the store opened its doors, and even Topshop owner (and friend of Beyoncé) Sir Philip Green was there.

A DJ kept shoppers bopping their heads as they shopped the expansive store (which has an entire floor dedicated with wall-to-wall shoes), and customers even got a chance at a free manicure. Later on, stars like Julia Restoin Roitfeld (daughter of Kardashian-West family-friend Carine) and Hailey Baldwin made guest appearances, with their personal Topshop picks noted around the store.
Topshop’s newest Manhattan flagship is the first step in its plans for U.S. expansion—so maybe there will be a Topshop coming to a mall near you (a girl can only hope)?
