The Trapeze School of New York (TSNY) is a unique school designed to share the art of trapeze with anyone. They have classes designed for all levels- intermediate and beginner trapeze artists, as well as workshops for more advanced flyers. They also offer private and group classes in static trapeze and silks. Trampoline sessions are even available at some of their schools. They offer parties, corporate events, and team- building workshops.

TSNY believes that they have a positive impact on the community. “We teach people to trust and to let go,” stated flying instructor Annie Doss.

Participants climb a ladder to the top of the platform and then swing onto the bar, tuck their knees, and dangle from the bar. On the other side, a trained flyer is waiting and in perfecting timing grabs your hands and removes you from the bar- swinging you high in the air. Don’t worry there’s a huge net underneath you, which you drop down into after your flying sensation.

TSNY has eight schools in the U.S. in Los Angeles, Boston, D.C., Chicago, Puerto Rico, and New York (Pier 40, South St. Seaport, and Long Island City). The Pier 40 school overlooks the Hudson and has a great view of the city.

Class pricing consists of weekday mornings for $50, weekday afternoon and evenings for $60, and Saturday and Sunday sessions for $70.

Sounds like a great chance for some out of the ordinary, adventurous fun with friends or co-workers and a chance to wear those cute workout clothes outside of the gym!
