Old Disney Channel stars and long-time pals Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are apparently no longer friends. According to a report by The Daily Mail, Lovato pulled the chord on her already strained friendship by doing the unspoken – unfollowing Gomez on social media website, Twitter. According to the report, the “Heart Attack” singer also posted a message, which was later deleted, around the time of the incident that reads: “Swimming away from the bulls*** bye bitch.”
The pair have been friends since they starred together in ‘Barney and Friends’ as young children and went on to star in their own Disney Channel shows. They were even in a Disney Channel Original Movie together, “Princess Protection Program.” As teens, the two both went through rehab stints, as well as ups and downs with their friendship. This time, according to Hollywood Life, the 21-year-old “Sonny With a Chance” actress is finally fed up with the drama surrounding Gomez.
Regarding Gomez’s Justin Bieber drama, a source told Hollywood Life that “Demi doesn’t need any extra drama, she’s learned from her own recovery to lose the people that bring her down and Selena is too much of a headache. The unfollowing of Selena is sending a message that Demi is pissed. She is sick of Selena’s boy-who-cried-wolf mentality.”
Yet, just last year, the “Neon Lights” singer said she would always have a place for her best friend in her life despite the drama. She is quoted in The Daily Mail: “We’ve been through a lot together, we’ve had periods of times where we grew apart and we just didn’t really talk. Now we are in a place where I think we realized that life is so short and that when you have people in your life that love you so much, then you should just always be around them. Everything about her, she has a great soul, she’s talented, she’s beautiful, and she will always be really, really close to my heart.”
So was this Twitter incident really the end of their 15-year-old relationship, or is this just another dramatic fight that will blow over in due time?
