Valentino’s new collection is definitely a site to see. With two of the major inspirations being multiculturalism and music festivals. The two concepts harmoniously collide to create a boho world traveler vibe.
The structure of the garments is fairly simple. With a lot of straight cut lines, and fits ranged from loosely hanging gowns and a fitted crop top and shorts set. One thing the collection has is a lot of texture. Lace, silk, and embellishments really make the pieces stand out and the whimsical mix of patterns and colors really catches the eye.
According to WWD, Valentino’s creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli were specifically inspired by the documentary Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel, the Governors Ball, Coachella, Navajo embroidery, and Millicent Rogers.
Chiuri told WWD “We are interested in the idea of harmony that combines different worlds, creating an aesthetic that is really contemporary because it’s the fruit of free associations[.]”
These collection is an eclectic piece of art work.
